Harrison Playgroup is committed to providing you and your child with a quality service. To help monitor our provision and keep up to date with childcare developments, our setting is subject to yearly inspections from SCSWIS and regular liaison with the Scottish Pre-School Play Association.
We embrace equality and anti-discriminatory provision for all concerned. The SCSWIS and The Scottish Social Services Council require the staff to be aware and adhere to the regulations and standards set down by these governing bodies to ensure good practice. Under the Child Protection guidelines, the Playgroup may be obliged to discuss a child’s welfare, in confidence, with the Social Work department without informing the parents.
Early years settings, such as playgroups, follow the Scottish Executive’s "Pre-Birth to Three” document, supporting our youngest children, along with "The Curriculum for Excellence” for our older children. The ages of children that attend our setting require us to be aware of the principles and developmental needs set down in both these documents.
All parents/carers have open access to view all documents and policies regarding childcare development, children’s rights and requirements; we encourage you to read and understand these. Parents have the right to information on all aspects regarding their child’s welfare and the management of the group.
