Harrison Playgroup is run by a committee. All parents/carers who bring their child to Harrison Playgroup are members of the committee. We encourage you to attend all meetings concerning playgroup, as we value your ideas and suggestions. You will find that attending meetings, generally held at Playgroup or The Royal Ettrick, will help you to facilitate your involvement and present you with an opportunity to develop new friendships. We appreciate that you may not always be able to attend meetings, but please be proactive when opportunities present themselves, such as our fundraising events.
We hold two main fundraising events every year. These events take considerable effort to organise and their success depends on the involvement and contribution of all parents. These events are very enjoyable for all concerned and they bring to playgroup a sense of community and togetherness.
An annual general meeting every year provides feedback and evaluation of the service and the provision given to you and your child. All parents should attend this meeting. The Office Bearers are elected at the AGM.
Our committee currently has elected office bearers who take responsibility for specific areas i.e. Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer. Playgroup is always changing, as children move on to nursery and their time spent at playgroup naturally ends. We therefore rely on other parents to make a commitment and take up the elected posts. Without such people, playgroup would cease to be.
We believe Harrison playgroup is a special place, which serves the community in a unique way. We are very proud that so many parents give us positive feedback, which motivates us to continue providing a high quality service.
